Wieder einmal machen die Little Brutal Rave Bastards mit ihrem unkonventionellen Sound auf sich aufmerksam. Bereits die dritte Serie der Musik, die irgendwie in gar keine Schublade passt, und die dann immer auf meinem Hardcore-Plattenteller landet. Weiss Gott, mein Plattenteller hat schon ganz andere, härtere Sachen von unten gesehen, aber irgendwie hat die Mucke von den Bastards irgendwas. Vielleicht ist es diese musikalische Skrupellosigkeit und Unverschämtheit, mal minutenlang nur monoton einen ultratiefen Bass laufen zu lassen. Der Spruch auf der Platte passt perfekt: "over the edge dancemusic for non existing dancefloors".

Das Label auf dem auch die letzte Figurine erschien kommt mit einem neuen Album von Jean Bach,
aka Sascha Schierloh, die sich wie immer auf gar nichts festlegt. Mal skurrile Dancefloor Tracks
mit zirpenden Sounds und fast analoger Ästhetik die plötzlich in Popslammer mutieren, dazwischen
Bassdrum Terror veranstalten und den Gameboy rocken als wäre immer 1990, Stücke die ein
Retrodiscoflavour dazumischen, und sich irgendwann in Effektoverload suhlen wie eine
Fangopackung der Erinnerung. 80er Cutupwahnsinn der merkwürdigsten Sorte neben Killer-DSP
Spezialitäten und all das immer in dieser eigenwilligen Mischung aus Lofi-Losgeh-Terror und
morbid überglücklichem Zitatuniversum mit ernsten tragischen Passagen und Teilen die fast
psychotisch wirken, mit Stammtischgabba und Kinderzimmerneurosen, Drummachine Workouts
und allem was das elektronische Heimwerkerherz so begehrt. Nur eins ist es nie: langweilig und

Live im Dezember 2002. Ein Gedanke, eine Kraft, ein Wackelkontakt. Jean
Bach übernimmt DJ-like die Sample-Rhythmik-Foltermaschine, und der Bernd
von Deep klampft die Bassgitarre (...von welcher bereits innerhalb der
ersten Minuten 2 Saiten reissen, welche dann stürmisch und mit allem
Nachdruck die Tonabnehmer auspeitschen, um anschließend schlaff um den
Basshals gewickelt zu werden...). Soweit, sogut. Nach 20 Minuten hat der
Brummkrrchzschabnrrx ein Ende (man muss aufhören, wenn's am besten ist.
Was? Es war nicht wirklich gut? Tja...) und diese CD steht erst am
Anfang. Aufgezeichnet wurde nicht nur der Live-Set, sondern der
komplette Werdegang des Abends: Zusammenpacken des Equipments,
Soundchecks, Gespräche mit der 2. Band des Abends, Interview mit einem
Fan (ja, es gab tatsächlich einen. Einen.), Gage-Verhandlungen auf
kroatisch, Resümee während der Heimfahrt, .... Im A3-Coverfolder sind
die heissesten Pin-Ups des Abends und der ungeschnittene
Intim-email-Check abgedruckt, welches allein den Verkaufspreis
rechtfertigt.

Der erste Teil des Viereinhalbminüters könnte ein Moon Petrol Soundtrack RMX sein (Pacman
war dagegen schon immer langweilig): gewolltes knarzen, wo´s früher technisch einfach nicht
anders machbar war. Nur der Basskick ist aus einer anderen Epoche. Und dann: Melodie! Nicht
dieses fröhliche Pfeiffen, während der Mondjeep über Schlaglöcher springt, Krater abschießt,
sich gegen UFO-Angriffe wehren muss, sondern ein Düsterdreitönecheapo, der die Hackbeats
zusammenkittet. Das ist eine konsequente Antwort auf die Popwelle, welche die
Click´n´Cuts-Szenerie mittlerweile weggespült hat. Ey, VIPs, hier geht´s lang!

Musikwelt schlängelt sich die Nummer 9, beginnend beim Quartalskrach
von Herrn Nomex, Carthages manischem Schleifendownbeatbrettcore,
Frederik Schikowski natürlich, Kid 606, Jean Bach, Knifehandchop,
Lesser, Nedjey, den großartigen Nazis from Mars, Herrn De Babalon,
555's Steward und zum Beispiel den tollen The Green Pumper aus
Kanada, die sowas wie ElektronikaFreestyle auf 300 bpm veranstalten.
Naja, das ist ein bisschen gelogen, aber so würde ich mir das
wünschen. Alle machen hier ihren Job mehr als gut, so, wie man es
vonder ganzen Irritant-Familie eben gewöhnt ist. Checken. Hier findet jeder
was.

...Nichts geschieht zufällig. Und wenn doch, so sieht der Hörer nicht, wie im
(Zoom-)Raum nebenan über ihn gelacht wird. Jean Bach klickt, kickt, klimpert
und, vor allem, klotzt! Auf allen Breitengraden. Zu umfangreich, um hier mehr
als nur die Oberfläche ankratzen zu können... Zur Anti-Serie reiht sich diesmal,
nach Merzbow- und Whithouse-Quietschkrachern, sogar ein Anti-Lustmord/Main-Remix
ein? Nein, wenigstens nicht offiziell. Blöde Dröhnmucke (Zitat JB) mit einem aus
dem Kontext gerissenem "Der Neger hat meine Fahrkarte aufgefressen" -
stilisiert, in Form gebracht. Die Click/Cut-ups wurden, anders als bei JBs
mittlerweile zahlreich gewordenen Kollegen, nicht in die abstrakt-extreme Ecke
getrieben, sondern finden sich, verquirrlt mit Italo (nimmt hier einen noch
höheren Stellenwert ein als das Holder/Frankfurter auf der letztjährigen "Einen
Traum..." schafften!), technoidem Irgendwas (auch der Beat kann die Melodie
flüstern) und Blubbersynths, in einem zeitlosen Guss wieder. Unterschwelliger
Humor und gute Laune sind elegant (mehr schweizer Kroko als ICE) in
Miniohrwürmer verpackt, die einem bündelweise entgegenschlagen. Es wurde noch
lange nicht alles gesagt - hier ist der Beweis.

>>>jean bach is an artist from hamburg, germany, who apparently challenged himself to
produce as many different sounds as possible. ranging from 4/4 techno music to "very
hard to get a grip on minimalistics" to pure noise. "vijfde mixer" continues this challenge
and became very diverse. being a train-driver himself, jean bach knows how to listen to
machinery, but also how to make interesting soundtracks from pure soundscapes. for
four tracks on this record the main soundsource has been trains and their surroundings.
for other pieces he used parts of these soundscapes to work more sequence based
and write mostly short tracks with. the remaining, (noisy!) titles on this release are
compiled of the generous offer in music jean bach has sent and just fit in nice.. also
limited to 500 copies, 50% white vinyl pressing.<<<
